Mod of the Week: The Caribbean Axis

Welcome to Mod of the Week, where we highlight Civilization: Beyond Earth mods created by the community. This week, a custom Sponsor: The Caribbean Axis.

We know what you're thinking: Why would anyone want to leave the Caribbean? Sunshine, beaches and all of the pleasant, inviting culture that comes with it - what's not to love? Why would anyone want to trade that for Miasma and Siege Worms?

Then The Great Mistake changed everything. Suddenly, the tropical paradise of the Caribbean isles is no more. There is a revolution and the many people of the Caribbean band together under Jose Marti, who looks to the stars for hope. A seeding expedition is forged in the hopes of founding a new utopian society on some distant rock. The Caribbean Axis ventures beyond Earth.

Not only is this custom Civilization: Beyond Earth Sponsor created by Steam user Leugi (who also created custom Sponsor The Abya Yala Expedition) rich in lore, the Caribbean Axis also presents some interesting gameplay tweaks. The Caribbean Axis earns Affinity points when conquering cities and enjoys increased production in cities with garrisoned units. Revolutionaries yield additional Culture and Production in every city, and Ideology Books allow The Caribbean Axis to start with a free Affinity Level of the player's choice. Not bad, eh?

You can download the Caribbean Axis on Steam Workshop or through Civfanatics.com.
