Beyond Earth Mod of the Week: Superbiome - Seas of Fire

Welcome to Mod of the Week, where we highlight Civilization: Beyond Earth mods created by the community. This week: Superbiome - Seas of Fire.

Rising Tide, the upcoming expansion for Civilization: Beyond Earth, is set to launch this fall and will include a primordial biome, but what's a player to do until then? How can we scratch that fiery itch between now and the launch of Rising Tide? Enter: Superbiome - Seas of Fire.

This mod, created by Steam user HandyVac, replaces all oceans, lakes and rivers with molten lava. Aside from the visual changes to water, this mod also offers actual mechanical and gameplay changes to Beyond Earth. Water tiles now yield Energy instead of Food, and all Naval units and embarkation has been disabled. Now players must build bridges between land masses in order to traverse rivers and water divides.

Superbiome - Seas of Fire adds much more than just that, so be sure to check out the mod on Steam Workshop here.
